Rajmachi Fort Trek

4.5 (154 reviews)

Overview

Rajmachi is actually two forts, Shrivardhan and Manaranjan, connected by a saddle and overlooking the old Bor Ghat trade route between the Deccan plateau and the Konkan coast. The walk in from Lonavala follows a wide forest trail past streams and waterfalls before reaching Udhewadi, a small village nestled between the two forts where most trekkers camp for the night. The gentle gradient and short daily distances make it one of the more accessible overnight treks in the Sahyadris.

Based in Maharashtra, this easy 2-day trek is best attempted during July, August, September, October, February, March β€” when the trail and surroundings are at their most rewarding.
