Lohagad Fort Trek

4.4 (203 reviews)

Overview

Lohagad is one of the most beginner-friendly forts in the Sahyadris, with a mostly paved path leading up from Lohagadwadi village near Lonavala. The fort is best known for Vinchu Kata, a narrow, scorpion-tail-shaped fortified ridge that juts out from the main plateau and offers sweeping views of the neighbouring Visapur fort and the surrounding valleys. Its short duration and gentle gradient make it a popular first trek for beginners and families.

Based in Maharashtra, this easy 1-day trek is best attempted during July, August, September, October, November, December, January β€” when the trail and surroundings are at their most rewarding.
