Kalsubai Peak Trek
Overview
At 5,400 feet, Kalsubai is the tallest peak in Maharashtra and one of the busiest weekend treks near Mumbai and Pune. The route climbs steeply from Bari village through a series of iron ladders bolted onto the rock face, making the final stretch feel more like a scramble than a walk. A small temple dedicated to the goddess Kalsubai sits at the summit, and on a clear morning the 360-degree view takes in the Bhandardara backwaters, Ratangad, and the surrounding Sahyadri ranges.
