Chasing Wildflowers: Trekking Valley of Flowers in Monsoon
By Sameer Wani · 11 August 2025
While the monsoon keeps most Himalayan trails closed due to landslide risk, the Valley of Flowers region actually comes alive during this season.
Between July and September, the valley floor is carpeted with over 300 species of wildflowers in every colour imaginable.
Pair it with a visit to Hemkund Sahib, a glacial lake and gurudwara sitting at over 14,000 ft, for a complete 6-day experience.
Pack a good rain jacket and waterproof trekking shoes - the trail can get slippery, but it's a gentle, well-marked route.
